The Grapevine Grille

I had high hopes walking into this restaurant but left with extreme disappointment and a bad taste in my mouth. After admiring its fancy, well-lit atmosphere, excellent architecture, and well-dressed customers, we ordered a “smoked old-fashioned” on the menu and two appetizers, fried pickles and mozzarella sticks. After probing about the chicken broccoli Alfredo, the service staff informed us some people say the sauce is a little on the watery side. Once we received the drinks and apps, I was immediately disappointed in the color and presentation of the old-fashioned. The color was of a watered-down fruit punch and instead of an orange peel, one-half of an orange was in the glass along with a maraschino cherry hiding under the ice instead of a luxardo cherry. It was better than most dive bars old fashioned, but nothing I expected from such a gorgeous place with higher-end prices. We were slightly concerned with the astronomically extensive menu, which had everything under the sun from American to Mexican to Mediterranean and Italian. The restaurant clearly suffers from an identity crisis. The appetizers had minimal visual appeal, and that was only surpassed by the horrible taste of burned overcooked, fried pickles, and undercooked greasy mozzarella sticks in a bed of machine-cut lettuce soaked in fryer grease. Both sauces for the mozzarella sticks and fried picked came in cheap plastic containers, had no flavor, while maintaining the quality of a expired BJ’s wholesale product on sale. The bill was 46$, and it was an expensive lesson I will never learn again. No complaints about the waitress, who was very attentive.

Recently I was working late and called to order food right at closing time. They very easily could have not answered or said sorry we are closed but instead went above and beyond to make sure they got my order in. The food was delicious and all of the staff was beyond accommodating. It is nice to have a gem of a restaurant in our town.

Nice surprise looking for a quick dinner after being in the area for the day. The restaurant is spacious and had plenty of seating available when we arrived. The menu seemed extensive with many offerings ranging from sandwiches to pasta dishes and entrees. My husband had a burger which he approved of, I ordered a 'goddess' sandwich. This sandwich was 'good'...but seemed to lack an abundance of ingredients which prompted me to order it in the first place...minimal feta cheese and olives. I'd definitely visit again and try something different as many items that passed by on the way to other tables looked (and smelled) quite tasty! Service was acceptable. 😊 Oh, and the onion rings were delish!
